Downs Field Mosaic Mural Project
To help ensure the success of the Downs Field Mosaic public art project, our first step is to define a shared vision around the purpose and theme of the murals. The scope of the project entails the design, production and installation of a series of 7 mosaic murals. Each mural is 10'high by 5'wide.

Documentation of the process will be a central strategy to engage the community throughout all phases of the project, including:
-
Design phase
-
Production phase
-
Dedication

Community Engagement: Friday August 19, 2016

Your photos, your voice, your comments, your stories and your ideas will serve as the driving forces of the mural designs.

During the production phase local residents and youth will be given an opportunity to work alongside a team of professional artists to co-create aspects of the public art project. These workshops allow community members to play an active role in the renovation of Downs Field through hands-on art production.

Upon completion of the project the community will serve as a catalyst to ignite the interest and awareness of the entire city of Austin of the significance of Downs Field as a cultural and historical landmark.

The legacy is sustained by the stewardship of the community through ongoing activities and support of Downs Field.
